Mailtraq Startup Script

Postby borpin » Tue Nov 27th, 2007 6:26pm

How do I create a script that sends an email when the mailtraq service starts? I have a feeling the service stops for some reason and I want to know each time it restarts.

Cheers

You can also look in the system event log (Control Panel | Administrative Tools | Event Viewer | System) and search for mailtraq in the description (View | Find | Description).
The list will give you the times, or you can double click the event to make sure of what you are looking at.
You can export the whole list, too, if you want to use Excel or similar to filter and view the events.

It's much easier to search through Mailtraq's log files. Here's my last restart ...
Code: Select all
00010000 00000000 01/11/2007 01:53:43 Configuration Loaded / Logging Started: Build 2.10.0.2176

If you have a good text editor, you should be able to search through the contents of files easily - in textpad, that's Ctrl+F5. Alternatively, run one of the log report scripts http://www.rdns.org/mailtraq/logs/ For example, the above was reported as
Code: Select all
Analysing c:\log\mailtraq\2007-11-01-mtq.log -- 26972 lines

ADMIN: Mailtraq restart -- 1
   01:53:43 - Build 2.10.0.2176
